English League Championship Round Up

Danny Guthrie fired Newcastle to the top of the League Championship with the only goal in a one-nil victory over Leicester yesterday.

Still looking for a full time manager and with owner Mike Ashley trying to sell the club, Newcastle made it four wins in a row under coach Chris Hughton.

They are now 13 points from five games. That gave the Magpies a two-point advantage over second place West Bromwich Albion, the only team to score against them so far.

Both clubs were relegated from the Premier League last season.

Yesterday’s other game in the Championship between Peterborough and Crystal Palace ended in a one-all draw.
