The Ministry of Education has admitted that its still not sure when schools are to reopen for the new term.

Yesterday the Ministry announced schools would reopen on September 10, one week later than scheduled, following speculation that the general election would be held on September 3.

But speaking on Independent Talk on Power 106 FM this morning, State Minister for Education, Noel Monteith said the Ministry made an error when it made the announcement.

Meanwhile Mr. Monteith says a meeting is to be held with officials of the ODPEM on Monday to determine when schools that are still being used as shelters will be vacated.

Schools still housing large numbers of persons are mainly located in Trelawny, St Elizabeth and St Ann.
