The permanent secretary in the transport and works ministry, Dr. Alwyn Hayles is refuting reports that the Port Authority of Jamaica Pension Fund will be used to purchase a house being occupied by the transport minister.
During an interview with the Gleaner Power 106 News Centre today, Dr. Hayles sought to clarify the reports.
During yesterday’s press conference Dr. Hayles said the house, which was valued at between $60 and $65 million actually cost the Port Authority and its Pension Fund $35 million.
He said just under $50 million was being spent to acquire and rehabilitate the premises at 5 Millsborough Crescent in St Andrew.
