Humanitarian aid arrives

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has donated an initial sum of US$125,000 to the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM).



USAID is also paying for aircraft being used to do aerial assessment of the damage.



The US Southern Command has also sent ships to Jamaica in the event that further assistance is needed.



Trinidad and Tobago, Spain, Brazil, Venezuela and Canada have also pledged to help.
