NWU to represent hotel workers
The National Workers Union (NWU) is moving to have all persons who work in the tourist industry represented by a union.
The union said it is seeking to represent more than 600 employees at the Bahia Principe Hotel in St. Ann, who have been consistently complaining about their work conditions.
NWU President, Vincent Morrison disclosed that the Labour ministry has agreed to hold a representational rights poll at hotels across the island, where workers do not have union representation.
He said the union is currently waiting for the hotel to present it with a list of the workers.
