Nursing groups raises concerns over reclassification
Some nursing groups are raising concern about what they say is the lack of information on the reclassification of some public sector nurses.
The groups comprising Nurse Anaesthetists and Nurse Practitioners say unlike other nurses, they have not received copies of the reclassification document.
The assistant Island Supervisor at the National Workers Union (NWU) Howard Duncan said he has written to the minister with responsibility for public service, Arthur Williams on the matter.
Nurse Anaesthetists and Nurse Practitioners are now being represented by the NWU after they ended ties with the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ).
Mr Duncan said he visited the Ministry of Finance today seeking clarification on the matter.
He said the union is also preparing a document on the issue for the Health Minister Ruddy Spencer.
