Several workers at the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) are back on the job after they were suspended following a fire at the Portmore depot in St. Catherine on February 23.
Four buses, valued at more than $30 million dollars were destroyed during the blaze.
The workers, who were on the job at the time of the fire, were sent home last week without notice or payment.
The Vice President of the University and Allied Workers Union (UAWU), Clifton Grant said the workers have been reinstated.
He said the management of JUTC has promised to inform the union of any developments regarding the investigation into the fire.
He also said the workers have given their word to cooperate with the investigators.
