Residents of Shettlewood and Burnt Ground in Hanover were last night met with gunfire as they returned home from a meeting with Health and Environment Minister, Rudyard Spencer.

Mr. Spencer met with the residents in an attempt to resolve a dispute between the community and the developers of the Royal Rest Cemetery.

It is reported that shortly after 8 p.m., three houses in the Shettlewood and Burnt Ground area were shot at resulting in one person being injured.

Member of Parliament for Eastern Hanover, Dr DK Duncan condemned the shootings as acts of intimidation against residents opposed to the cemetery’s location.
