Chelsea are back on top of the Premier League table after second-half goals from Nicolas Anelka and Florent Malouda secured a 2-0 win over Liverpool.

With the victory, Chelsea have moved to 21 points two points clear of Manchester United on 19.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have now lost three of their first eight games this season having been beaten only twice last season. No side has won the Premier League after such a start. They are fifth in the standings with 15 points.

Meanwhile, Arsenal had to come from behind twice against Blackburn before finally powering to a 6-2 victory.

In other games, West Ham and 10-man Fulham battled to a 2-2 draw and Stoke City claimed a hard-earned 1-1draw against Everton at Goodison Park.
