Allwood Anderson to discuss reclassification with nurses

The labour ministry has called the members of the Nurses’ Association of Jamaica (NAJ), to a meeting tomorrow to discuss their reclassification.

But the nurses are suspicious about the timing of the meeting because it coincides with the opening of the NAJ’s annual three-day conference slated for St. Ann.

The NAJ president Edith Allwood Anderson says she will attend the meeting tomorrow.

But she believes the clash is a deliberate tactic by the Government to delay the implementation of the nurses’ reclassification.

Mrs Allwood Anderson says last Friday and again yesterday the labour ministry put off scheduled meetings with the NAJ.

The NAJ President is also taking issue with Prime Minister Bruce Golding for his handling with the association having intervened in the matter.
