Montserrat\'s Soufriere Hills volcano emitted ash more than two miles into the sky yesterday causing widespread alarm.

This was the volcano’s first sign of activity in 10 months.

The acting director of Disaster Management, James White, said the emission is a reminder that the volcano is still active.

But he has sought to assure Montserratians that there is no need for panic.
