FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR ALL PARISHES

Published:Thursday | October 4, 2007 | 8:27 AM

The Meteorological Service has extended the Flash Flood Warning for low-lying and flood-prone areas of all parishes until 5:00 p.m. today.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding has been reported or will occur shortly.

A persistent Trough continues to generate unstable weather conditions over the central and western Caribbean, including Jamaica.

This system continues to produce outbreaks of moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms and projections are for these conditions to continue to affect the island and its territorial waters until Saturday.

Fishers and other marine interests should continue to exercise caution due to deteriorating sea conditions in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms.

The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
