Sunshine Girls back home
Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls are back home from England following their historic silver medal at the inaugural FastNet World Netball Series yesterday.
The Jamaicans went down 32-27 to New Zealand in the gold medal match.
The six-nation tournament was played under a set of new rules. Some of the rule changes include the allowance of rolling substitutions and goals scored outside the circle worth two points.
The result represents the second defeat for Jamaica at the hands of New Zealand, as the Sunshine Girls went down 37-28 earlier in the three-day tournament.
The Jamaicans reached the final following a 33-22 semi-final victory over archrivals England, while New Zealand beat Australia in the other semis.
Australia finished third after defeating England 23-18. England ended up fourth.
