Manning Cup Round Up

Defending champions St Georges College hammered St Mary’s College 13-0 at Winchester Park to record the biggest victory during yesterday’s round of matches in the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup football competition.



As a result of the victory, St Georges College remain top of Zone ‘F’ with 17 points, one ahead of second place Eltham High, who blanked third place Charlie Smith 2-0.



Over in Zone ‘B’, Norman Manley battled to a 1-1 draw with hosts Innswood to move closer to a spot in the second round.



Norman Manley moved to 24 points, five ahead of Kingston College, who defeated Haile Selassie 7-0.



Kingston College have now moved to second place on 19 points. In the group’s other game, Jose Marti and Ardenne played to a 2-2 draw.



Over in Group ‘C’, leaders Excelsior beat Campion College 4-0 to book their place in the second round, Spanish Town outscored Cumberland 5-2 and Calabar turned back Trench Town 4-0.



The competition continues this afternoon at 3:30 with eight games.
