The Central Clarendon Member of Parliament Mike Henry, is calling for a thorough investigation by both the police and the Jamaica Public Service Company of the events that led to the power outage in sections of May Pen over the weekend.

The JPS has reported that the thieves made their way onto its Parnassus Substation in Clarendon on Saturday, stealing oil from a transformer.

The company said that the transformer later caught fire and left approximately 18,000 of its customers without electricity supply.

Mr Henry said those responsible should be held accountable.
