JCF to improve crime reporting

Head of the Major investigations taskforce, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Les Green said the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is working to improve crime reporting.

ACP Green said a proper recording system is needed in order to effectively address the problem of crime, and could help in organising the deployment of police personnel.

He said JCF would be introducing a new video identification system to replace the existing ID parades.

ACP Green has also sought to assure that the witness protection programme is effective amid recent media reports identifying weaknesses in the system.

However, ACP Green admitted that there are areas of the programme, which the JCF is moving to improve.
