Zelaya talks break down

Envoys for ousted Honduran President, Manuel Zelaya, say talks with the interim government have broken down.

Mr Zelaya\'s team of negotiators had set a deadline of yesterday for the interim government to agree to terms allowing his return to power.

However, negotiators for interim leader Roberto Micheletti say although they had rejected the deadline, they’re still open to dialogue.

They say they would present a new proposal to Mr Zelaya today.

Mr Zelaya, who was ousted in late June, is currently taking refuge in the Brazilian embassy in the capital, Tegucigalpa.

His term of office is due to end at the end of January and presidential elections are scheduled for the end of November.
