Thieves broke into First Caribbean bank in May Pen

The May Pen Branch of First Caribbean Bank is the latest in a series of Clarendon businesses to be broken into by thieves.

The bank and the nearby branch of Courts Jamaica limited were targeted last night.

This is the second time that the Courts store is being broken into in less than a week.

The first incident happened over the Heroes weekend.

Christopher Denny, the director in charge of retail banking at First Caribbean, said the May Pen Branch opened late this morning because of the incident.

However he said the thieves only managed to take two items that he described as non-essential.

Mr Denny was not able to say whether the thieves had bypassed the bank’s alarm security system.
