Haitian Prime Minister Michele Pierre-Louis is expected to face questions in the Senate on Thursday over the handling of government finances.

The 30 member upper house, has the power to remove the Prime Minister by a simple majority vote.

Mrs Pierre-Louis was approved as Haiti\'s head of government a year ago, after her predecessor was fired by the Senate following food riots.

Her questioning will reportedly be led by members of President Rene Preval\'s Lespwa movement, which won a majority of the Senate in elections in June, marred by low turnout and fraud allegations.

Mr Preval had distanced himself from the party during the election.
