Parish Council employee to appear in court
A project manager employed to the St. Mary Parish Council who has been charged for conspiracy to defraud is scheduled to appear in court today.
Kamar Dixon, 23, of Bailey’s Vale, Port Maria.
Dixon, who was assigned to the council’s accounts department, was arrested after auditors found that money was being paid to persons not employed to the council.
It is reported that $1.2 million went missing from the council over a one-year period.
The former secretary to the state minister with responsibility for local government is to return to court on April 24.
