The Paris-based, Reporters Without Borders, has called for the Grenada government to introduce legislation that will have the effect of limiting the amount of money persons can claim for damages from the media.

The media watchdog was reacting to the decision of the High Court to wind up the operations of the Grenada Today newspaper, over its failure to meet a US$71,000 libel award to former Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell.

The paper’s editor, George Worme, has said he’s examining several options including the launch of a new newspaper.
