Pakistan against New Zealand in first ODI

New Zealand were 102-4 after 24 overs, chasing Pakistan’s total of 287-9 in the first One-Day International being played at the neutral venue of Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.



The batsmen at the crease are Aaron Redmond on 43 and Daniel Vettori on 21.



Earlier, Shahid Afridi and Kamran Akmal put on a century stand as Pakistan recovered from a bad start.



Afridi smashed 70 off 50 deliveries and Akmal an unbeaten 67 from 43 balls to put on 101 in less than 15 overs.



Also getting among the runs for Pakistan were Khalid Latif 64 and Mohammad Yousuf 30.



Bowling for New Zealand, Daniel Vettori ended with 2-34 and Shane Bond 2-61.
