West Indies batting legend Desmond Haynes said the regional board should concentrate on building a cricket academy.
He said an academy is needed to get West Indies cricket back on top.
Haynes also said the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is spending too much money on overseas coaches.
He feels that it is unnecessary to appoint a coach for the senior team, as it is very hard to change a player at that stage.
Haynes said the board should now concentrate on cricket at the youth level citing that a number of former players are willing to help once given the support.
