The co-owner of the Antigua-based Norman Aviation Training Academy, Grace Norman, has been released on XCD$30,000 bail for fraud related charges.

The 43-year-old businesswoman is accused of defrauding two of her students of the same amount.

She has been ordered to surrender all her travel documents and report to the police once weekly.

The court had originally imposed a three-day reporting stipulation but Norma’s attorney Michael Archibald said his client, who is ill and recently had surgery, is on sick leave until November 26.

Norman, the first female pilot in the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States was first detained on November 6 after handing out bad cheques to the men who later reported the matter to the police.

She is due to return to court on April 6, 2010.
