English League Round Up
Tottenham threw away a glorious chance to move back to third place in the English Premier League table after blowing a two goal lead and then missing an injury time penalty to draw 2-2 at Everton.
Jermain Defoe slotted in the opener at the near post in the 47th minute and Michael Dawson made it 2-0 with a diving header in the 59th minute.
Louis Saha volleyed in from eight yards to start Everton’s comeback in the 78th minute and Tim Cahill equalized when he stooped to head in Leighton Baine’s cross in the 86th minute.
Defoe had a chance to win it after Wilson Palacious, fouled by Tim Howard saved the striker’s spot-kick.
Meanwhile, Fulham striker Bobby Zamora fired his club back into the top half of the table with a 1-0 win over Sunderland then taunted his critics with his celebration at Craven Cottage.
The victory means Fulham have now moved ahead of Sunderland into eighth place.
