Protesters roadblock affect classes
Classes were affected at the Happy Grove High School in Portland this morning following roadblocks, which were mounted by residents in Manchioneal in the parish and in St. Thomas.
Several taxi and minibus operators have also withdrawn their services to protest against the deplorable road conditions in sections of the two parishes.
Principal of Happy Grove, Lauriston Lindsay explained that only 300 of the more than 1,000 turned up for classes this morning.
He said the protests have affected preparations for the CSEC exams at the school.
