Death toll in China rises

The death toll from the southern China flooding has risen to more than 100.

The floods have displaced 1.27 million people, with the deaths occurring in 12 provinces in the area.

The flooding also has caused the homeless to flee for shelter as they brace for more rains.

In the area of Fengkai, floods have turned streets into waterways, with many residents forced to travel in rowboats.

The flooding is the latest natural disaster to hit China, which is still reeling from a 7.9 magnitude earthquake that struck southwestern China on May 12 and killed more than 69,000 people.
