Update: Vybz Kartel, Mavado freed

Dancehall entertainers Vybz Kartel and Mavado have been released from police custody.



Vybx Kartel whose real name is Adidja Palmer and Mavado born David Brooks were detained yesterday after they surrendered to the Constant Spring Police.



The police had listed them as persons of interest saying they wanted to question the two artistes in connection with a number of recent incidents in the St. Andrew North Police Division.



Speaking with the Gleaner / Power 106 Valerie Neita-Robertson, the attorney for Vybz Kartel, says the police wanted to speak with her client concerning an ongoing criminal investigation.



Neita Robertson decline to divulge the nature of the crime as she says it is a confidential matter.



However, she is appealing to fans and associated of Vybz Kartel to be mindful of their activities as she says it may affect the artiste.
