Pepsi join forces with CTL for Gold Cup

Caymanas Track Limited (CTL) is expected to launch a series of four major-sponsored races known as the Grand Slam series next year.



CTL’s acting Chief Executive Officer and Director of Marketing, Chris Armond says the distance of the races will range from 1200 metres to 1820 metres.



The promoters have already secured sponsorship for the 2010 running of the Gold Cup, which will form part of the Grand Slam series of races next year.



Pepsi-Cola Jamaica has join forces with CTL to sponsor the 39th running of the Gold Cup Race Day, which is scheduled for Saturday, December 4.



The Gold Cup, the most important and prestigious handicap race on the racing calendar, will offer a purse of two million dollars with one million from Pepsi-Cola Jamaica.



It will be run over 1400 metres.



Seven of the races on the day will display names compliments of the sponsors. Those races are the Tropicana Chase, Gatorade Sprint, Mountain Dew Mile, D&G Dash, 7 Up Special, Ting Run and Aqua Dash.
