Bermuda’s governing Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) has won its third consecutive term in office.

The PLP won 22 seats to the 14 won by the United Bermuda Party in yesterday’s election.

The results are similar to those of the previous election four years ago.

The PLP gained 52 percent of the votes cast while the Opposition party gained 47 percent.

Premier Ewart Brown said he expected more seats but the result is satisfactory.
