Perfect start for Portmore United

First round champions Portmore United made a perfect start to the second round of the Cash Plus Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Sporting Central at Brancourt Court in Clarendon yesterday.

It was Portmore United first visit to Clarendon since 2003, after the team switched allegiance to the St Catherine Football Association.

In 2003, after winning the Premier League under the banner of Hazzard, the team changed its name.

In other games; Reno beat Arnett Gardens 3-1 at St Elizabeth; Technical High School; St. George’s upset Harbour View 2-0 at Lynch Park in Portland, and Tivoli Gardens edged Village United 1-0 at Edward Seaga Stadium.

The Waterhouse, Seba United game ended 1-all at Drewsland; while Boys’ Town and August Town also battled to a 1-all tie, at Collie Smith Drive.
