United States immigration authorities have arrested 21 people in Puerto Rico.
The arrest follows a federal investigation into piracy of thousands of counterfeit Compact Discs (CDs) and Digital Video Discs (DVDs) in flea markets across Puerto Rico.
The arrests were made in cooperation with the US Secret Service and the Puerto Rico Bureau of Special Investigations.
US attorney Rosa Emila Rodriquez-Velez, said the arrests will have a significant impact on the black market.
The underground market is damaging to artists, the local economy and consumers, she added.
53,000 discs were confiscated as part of the operation.
More than 700 people have been arrested between 2002 and 2006 for intelletual-property violations.
