Minimum wage consultations head to Mandeville

The labour ministry is reminding the public that the third in a series of five islandwide consultations being hosted by the Minimum Wage Advisory Commission will take place in Mandeville, Manchester today.
Members of the public and interested organisations are being invited to put forward comments, suggestions or proposals regarding a possible increase in the minimum wage and what that figure should be.
Today’s consultation is to be held at the Mandeville Hotel and is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
The minimum wage was last increased in February last year, when it moved from $4,0 70 for a 40-hour work week to $4,500 for the same period.
The Minimum Wage for Industrial Security Guards was also increased, moving from $6,050 to $6,655 per 40-hour work week.
