ICC removes Bucknor from second Test

International Cricket Council (ICC) has removed Jamaican umpire Steve Bucknor for next week’s Third test between hosts Australia and India.

Billy Bowden will replace Bucknor.

India demanded Bucknor be removed from the third Test, following the team’s anger towards his performance in the second Test in Sydney.

Bucknor was involved in five questionable decisions that went against India, in the match the team lost by 122 runs.

Bucknor is now awaiting the ICC to arrange a flight for him to return home.

Bucknor\'s removal was a U-turn by the ICC, which initially said yesterday that the Jamaican would be retained even though the Indians had made a written complaint over his incompetence.
