TROPICAL STORM ERNESTO NEARING THE NORTHERN COAST OF CUBA

At 4:00 p.m. the centre of Tropical Storm ERNESTO was located near Latitude 21.3 degrees north and Longitude 76.9 degrees west. This position is just inland over eastern Cuba.



ERNESTO is moving towards the northwest near 20 km/h and this general motion is expected to continue for the next 24 hours. On this track the center should emerge into the Atlantic Ocean north of Cuba tonight.



Maximum sustained winds are near 65 km/h with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast after the center moves back over water.





Tropical Storm ERNESTO is not a threat to Jamaica.
