NWU calls for meeting with Mike Henry

President of the National Workers’ Union (NWU), Danny Roberts, has written to Transport Minister, Mike Henry requesting an urgent meeting to discuss matters relating to the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC).

Mr. Roberts is claiming that the company’s management has abandoned principles of good industrial relations as it tries to save money.

He said the strike action taken by workers earlier this week points to serious industrial relations problems at the company.

Among the outcomes being sought by Mr. Roberts at the requested meeting, is a commitment by the Transport Minister to good industrial relations practices.
