Newcastle ended Sam Allardyce\'s managerial reign after eight months.
The club, currently 11th in the Premier League, said yesterday the decision had been reached by mutual agreement.
Allardyce took over in May, following Glenn Roeder\'s resignation, after eight years in charge at Bolton.
He won eight of his 24 matches at Newcastle, while losing 10.
Many fans want former striker and captain Alan Shearer to take over despite him having no managerial experience, but Shearer has ruled himself out.
