Emily Crooks leaving Nationwide

Published:Monday | March 10, 2014 | 7:46 AM

Emily Crooks, the co-host of Nationwide News Network’s flagship morning programme 'This Morning', has announced that she is leaving the station after more than 10 years.

Noting what she called shifting priorities, Crooks, who is also an attorney-at-law since 2011, said she has decided to focus more on her family.

“Everyone knows and must understand his own circumstance, she said. "At this time in my life, being a mother to my two children is the most important job," added Crooks.

She announced her impending departure during the editorial segment of 'This Morning' with co-host Naomi Francis.

Crooks said she does not want her departure to be seen as her “walking out" on Cliff Hughes, the Nationwide boss.

She said there was a friendly rivalry between them but noted that Hughes has been a "rock".

Crooks said she has had discussions with the station’s management and it understands her decision.

Crooks will leave Nationwide News Network on Friday, March 28.

George Davis is expected to replace her.
