Seven Caribbean boxers have arrived in Jamaica to compete in the Wray & Nephew Contender boxing show, which starts on March 19.

They are Derek Richmond, Howard Eastman and Gladwin Dorway from Guyana, Prince Lee Isidore from Trinidad, and Gardel Roberts and Revlon Lake from Barbados.

The series is in its fourth year, and will be for welterweight boxers.

Last year, the competition was for middleweights, and saw Devon Moncriffe coming out as the Wray & Nephew Contender for 2013.

Sixteen boxers, divided into two teams, will participate.

The boxers compete on a knockout basis each week, with the winner moving on to the next round.

The preliminary bouts and the quarterfinals are over six rounds each, the semi-finals will be over eight rounds and the final will be a 10-round event.

Nine Jamaicans who participated in previous Contender shows are slated to be back in action this year, among them Sakima Mullings, Donovan Campbell and Tsetsi Davis.
