Pakistani police arrested a teenage boy who has confessed to being involved in the assassination of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto.

Security officials said the boy told them he was part of a backup squad trained to attack, if the initial attempt on her life had failed.

The police said the 15 year old boy was arrested in Pakistan\'s North West Frontier Province along with a senior militant.

The police also said the boy named a local militia commander, Baitullah Mehsud, as being behind the assassination.

Mr. Mehsud has been accused by Pakistani authorities, but denied any involvement in Ms. Bhutto’s killing.

Pakistan’s Interior Secretary, Kamal Shah said interrogators are trying to get supporting testimony from the second detainee before accepting the teenager’s confession.
