NWA to monitor Palisadoes

National Works agency (NWA) said it would be monitoring the situation on the Palisadoes road in Kingston.

Yesterday, the roadway was reduced to single lane traffic after high winds and corresponding high tides deposited sea water and debris onto the roadway.

NWA’s Communications Manager, Stephen Shaw, said workmen cleared most of the debris yesterday.

He said the agency would monitor the situation today, to determine whether it will need to return with heavy equipment.

Motorists are being advised to be vigilant and proceed with extreme caution when traveling along the Palisadoes Road.
