Spanish monarchs in Trinidad
And the Spanish monarch, King Juan Carlos and his wife Queen Sofia, are now in Trinidad and Tobago at the start of a two-day state visit to the twin island republic.
The royal couple will pay courtesy calls on President George Maxwell Richards and his wife, Dr Jean Ramjohn-Richards, along with Prime Minister Manning.
The Spanish king and queen are also scheduled to address a joint session of Parliament and attend a State Dinner hosted by the President.
Tomorrow, he will hold bilateral talks and sign a Double Taxation Agreement and Exchange of Notes on Reciprocal participation in Municipal Elections.
He will also meet with Opposition Leader Basdeo Panday as well as visit the St. Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI).
The couple will also attend a Children\'s Rally and Cultural Exposition before leaving later in the day for Jamaica.
