A Jamaican man from southeast London is facing six years behind bars and possible deportation, after he was found guilty of intending to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

Winston Forbes, 36, was sentenced at the Inner London Crown Court last week.

The judge also recommended that he be sent back to Jamaica after serving his sentence.

Police stopped Forbes last year, while riding a motorcycle in Lordship Lane, Southwark.

London police said they found him in possession of quantities of class A drugs and cash.

During the search, he reportedly removed an item from his trouser waistband that was believed to be a weapon.

It was allegedly only after a struggle with the police that Forbes dropped the item.

The police revealed that it was later found to be a handgun loaded with three live rounds, contained in a sock.
