ICC says it will be difficult for team to tour Pakistan
The International Cricket Council (ICC) said it would be difficult for international cricket team to return to Pakistan following the attack on the Sri Lanka team.
The ruling body is reviewing Pakistan’s status as co-host of the 2011 One-Day World Cup in the wake of the attack that left six police officers and a civilian dead.
The ICC will meet in Dubai next month to discuss whether to redistribute the matches among India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the other World Cup co-hosts.
Pakistan Information Minister Sherry Rehman told the BBC that the incident has caused untold damage to the game of cricket.
Seven players, an umpire and a coach were wounded, none with life-threatening injuries.
Australia and India have refused to travel to Pakistan in the past over safety concerns, with Sri Lanka only visiting after replacing India.
