Former vice-president of racing and promotions of Caymanas Track Limited (CTL) Chris Armond has been named on the new board of the promoting company.

The announcement was made earlier this afternoon via a teleconference by Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service, Don Wehby.

Minister Wehby said Armond could be asked to play a further role.

Armond was CTL vice-president of racing from 1989 to 1998 but resigned under questionable circumstances.

Since his resignation, he has served in top managerial positions in Trinidad and Barbados.

He ended his administrative stint as Operations Manager of the Barbados Turf Club in January after serving for seven years and returned to Jamaica.
