TROPICAL STORM DEAN CONTINUES WESTWARD ACROSS THE TROPICAL ATLANTIC

At 4:00 a.m. the center of Tropical Storm Dean was located near Latitude 12.2 degrees north and Longitude 44.2 degrees west or about 1880 kilometres east of the Lesser Antilles.



Dean is moving towards the west near 30 km/h and this general motion is expected to continue over the next 24 hours.



Maximum sustained winds are near 85 km/h with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 24 hours.



The progress of Tropical Storm Dean will continue to be closely monitored.
