State funeral for Jagan tomorrow

The state funeral for Former Guyana president Janet Jagan will take place tomorrow.



Mrs. Jagan died in hospital on Saturday at the age of 88.



Guyana began two days of mourning this morning with flags being flown at half-mast.



The American embassy in Georgetown in paying tribute to Jagan noted her American roots and highlighted her role as a principal figure in Guyana\'s successful struggle for independence.



Meanwhile, the British High Commission has described as enormous, her contribution to Guyana\'s social and economic development.
