UWP party leader nominations

Delegates of the United Workers Party (UWP), met to consider the nominations for the positions on the party’s executive yesterday.

Prime Minister, Stephenson King is expected to be challenged by former Party Vice Chairman, Bain Nathaniel for the post of party leader.

Mr. Nathaniel must be nominated at Sunday’s delegates’ Conference, before he can be elected at the UWP’s convention on March 10.

Yesterday’s delegates meeting were the first major indoor gathering of the UWP rank and file, since the death party founder and former Prime Minister, Sir John Compton.

Following Sir John\'s death in September, Party Chairman, King emerged as Prime Minister.
