Two killed in motor vehicle accident

Two people were killed in a motor vehicle accident along the Oracabessa Main Road in St. Mary last night.



Five other persons who were involved in the accident have been hospitalised.



According to the police, the incident occurred around 7 pm, when a white Toyota motorcar collided with a Hyundai Truck.



The car was reportedly overtaking a line of traffic when it slammed into the truck.



The driver of the car, Calbert Kidd, 33, of Kidland District, St. Mary died on the spot.



20 year old Jamie Harrison, of Albion Mountain in St. Mary, died while undergoing treatment in hospital.



Detective Sergeant, Alfred Stoddart of the St. Mary Police said speeding was one of the major factors that led to the accident.
