Curfew Update

TWO ADDITIONAL illegal firearms were seized by the security forces yesterday as they continued their search of areas in downtown Kingston currently under curfew.

The weapons are two AK-47s, which were seized on Asquith and Myers streets, both in Craig Town. In addition, a total of 51 rounds of ammunition - all 7.62 calibre - were seized, also in the same community.

A total of 186 persons have been taken into custody - 30 more yesterday, all males, plus the 156 from Thursday. One hundred and forty-four persons have already been processed, interviewed and released. Forty-two are still in custody.
